Event Spark

Event Spark is a great name for what internally happens for when we become impelled to do something. For most of my life, I have let many of these thoughts go silent. Now the spark within, has decided to lessen this silencing voice. The method used will be to get these thoughts out before my stronger desire to stiffle them appear and to then circle back to the ideas by hopefully editing or refining them. There are many times, as I am sure all of us have, where we feel impelled to do something but we do not. There are many sparks that could ignite a blaze for all of us to experience more connection in the world that we decide to let burn away. We all want connection, introverts included. We want to feel a part of and we want to avoid being alienated.

When we take stands we alienate ourselves from others on the other side. I usually do not speak out on many topics for keeping peace within my family. There are so many within my family whose ideas seem so far away from mine. I will not be sharing this blog with them and I guess any other Trump fan, or denier of a more factual reality. I reached a breaking point, which has allowed my inner critics to break free for a while. My breaking point has been building for quite some time. Almost every time Trump opens his mouth, he fills the world with inaccuracies he wants others to believe as “pure” truth. He wants others to follow him like a fundamentalist preacher would. He wants a world where only the “pure” truth, which is his truth rules, with no exceptions.

Truths do not usually need to rule others and when they do, they are not truths. Truths are like what we all agree on as truths, like the color of the sky, but the so-called truths that he spews into the world, are usually botched up non-educated opinions, that are advantageous to his saddened and twisted world of him staying on top. He will use any mode necessary to stay on top. He constantly contorts reality to shine light on himself. Recently he spewed praises on himself for his reduced crime rate stating he has done for more than anyone before him, especially Biden. Factcheck.org stated his crime rate has not been better than Biden’s, except in areas, Trump has no control. Factcheck.org also because they value facts, states these crime rates has so many confounding factors that they cannot narrow it down to the four or eight year term a president has and specifically state the president is the one who reduced the crime rate.

People who are concerned with what is true, the the pure fundamentalist time of truth, but the truth that states what is more true and what is less true about a particular so called truth, not what is the pure truth. The more and less true is how facts work. There are facts like eating less calories makes you lose weight, but other factors like biology and the type of calories eaten. As many variables as possible must be taken into consideration. Living by the idea as being as honest as you can with the information you have and knowing where this information has limits and informing others about those limits, makes the world a better place, not denying what knowledge contradicts the knowledge you need to spew in order to stay in power. This type of knowledge requires ignorance, blind followers, or courtesans—Trumps sycophants

  • The "Event Spark": An internal impulse that drives us to action. For years, I suppressed these thoughts, but I have decided to silence the voice making excuses—including the idea that everything must be perfectly edited before sharing.

  • The Cost of Silence: We all crave connection and fear alienation, which can put our superegos into overdrive, resulting in keeping our thoughts to ourselves. This silence puts out the spark. Taking a stand can alienate us from others, which is why I often kept quiet to maintain peace within a family holding vast political differences.

  • The Breaking Point: Donald Trump's repeated, inaccurate claims—presented as "pure truth" like a fundamentalist preacher—finally broke my silence. True knowledge doesn't require forced rule or total blind obedience.

  • Manipulating Reality: Rather than sticking to objective facts, Trump twists reality for self-aggrandizement. For example, when he claimed sole credit for dropping crime rates compared to Biden, FactCheck.org highlighted the multitude of confounding factors that make attributing crime trends to any single president impossible.

  • How Truth Actually Works: Real facts exist on a spectrum of "more true" or "less true" depending on context and nuance (much like how weight loss depends on calories, biology, and diet quality). Integrity means being honest about the limits of what we know, rather than relying on ignorance, sycophancy, and denial to maintain power.
