Trump making 3 billion while in office may be the worst form of corruption but this corruption had always been a part of the US. The violence cast down on the Central American people which US government members had a major hand in supported the lifestyles of the Dulles brothers, one Secretary of State, and attorney to UFC and the other being the head of the CIA!
Oh and how well our propaganda machine has always worked. Edward Bernays, was Ziggy's uncle, and was the master manipulator of the time. He helps governments and corporations sway public opinion. He saw the public as a herd and as irrational. His savvy techniques which are still used today helped sweaty public opinion about Arbenz showing him as a commie sympathizer. The power and money the US sleezier elites have made from this pathetic approach is tragic.
Because of his sleezy techniques, Allende was easily usurped and killed as well as all the rest of these so called dictators. When you have someone after you you have to resort to horrible measures yourselves. The system perpetuates horrible liars who profess to be freedom fighters and horrible dictators who resort to horribly oppressing others for fear the anyone or anything can lead to a capitalist liar oppressing them. Neither person should be condoned. If anyone has to resort to dishonest means to get what they want, they are hurting everyone in the long run. Anyone who is oppressed, will react to the oppression, whether that is taking it out on themselves or others. It does not matter which because their friends and family will become influenced by it.
We all have to have a standard level of lifestyle to make a world wonderful for all of us. Is we fail at this, it always haunts us. We may always be haunted. It would be wonderful if one day we understand this.
