Would Jesus choose pro-life or universal healthcare?
It is absurd so many people tell us what Jesus would do when Jesus hasn’t existed and probably did not exist in the way that we think for over 2000 years. If we take the whole world into consideration the countries with better access to healthcare, which are the ones where healthcare is part of being a citizen of that particular country, has higher mortality rates than countries where abortion is banned or severely limited. It’s not 100% the case with some countries that severely limit it, but never in countries or states that totally ban abortion. For instance, if someone’s raped, there is incest, or there’s some severe complications with the embryo, they are permitted to have an abortion.
However, really understanding how Jesus was pro life, and the most radical sense. This is what most of our histories tell us about Jesus as much as they can possibly tell us is that Jesus fully loved humanity and wanted to treat everyone well. He understood what it was like to in the worst conditions. He understood what it was like to be traumatized. He had deep empathy for people who went through horrible events and how they tried to cope before he was in their life.
Top-ranking countries and territories for low input, mortality rates include:
San Marino (~1.2): Sourced from official demographic tracking and civil registration data reflected
in international databases like the WHO/UNICEF mortality logs and regional microstate health
profiles.
Monaco (~1.9 to 2.2): Derived from national vital statistics reported to global health oversight bodies and compiled annually by the WHO, UNICEF, and the CIA World Factbook.
Japan (~1.8 to 2.1): Grounded directly in Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare vital statistics registries, which are continuously incorporated into UN IGME and WHO global health repositories.
Singapore (~2.2): Sourced from Singapore's Department of Statistics and Ministry of Health registries, standardized and published across global comparative datasets by UNICEF and the WHO.
Nordic Countries—Finland, Norway, and Sweden (~1.9 to 2.5): Drawn from national population registers (such as Statistics Finland, Statistics Norway, and Statistics Sweden) and aggregated into European health reporting matrices and UN IGME global datasets.
And to be fair, San Marino still has restrictions on abortion but much less so than totally denying it like Texas, who has an infant mortality rate from 5.7 to 5.8 deaths per thousand live births. And Texas sadly Is one of our states with the most restrictive anti-abortion ban. You cannot get an abortion if you’ve been raped, If the fetus will cause severe complications and possibly death, or if incest had occurred.
I believe, looking at those numbers, and on top of that that all of these places with low mortality rates have universal healthcare would be what Jesus would choose if he could only choose one option. And to be honest, I cannot determine what Jesus would choose when it comes to abortions. I’m sure he would be pro-life at every sense if it made the world a better place. I would say, if restricting abortions led to more alcoholism, violence, women’s health issues, and anything else that could increase the overall death rate of the world, he would get choose life over death. He would also highly restrict the chances of any country going to war. He would have so many more laws restricting war than he would a woman’s body.
Our country is filled with blasphemous leaders who believe they’re doing Jesus‘s work, who are actually doing the devil’s work. They are killing us more than helping us. They’re taking away so many of our rights, decreasing our standard of living, and making the world a worst place for everyone.
